Expo to run concurrently with NTEA’s 41st convention

The Work Truck Show 2005, in conjunction with the Annual National Truck Equipment Association Convention, has been scheduled for March 2-4 at the Indiana Convention Center and RCA Dome in Indianapolis. It is the only business-to-business event exclusively dedicated to the Class 1-8 truck and transportation equipment industry.

Hundreds of exhibitors will display full-size vehicles and equipment for truck Classes 1 through 8, featuring the latest products available in the industry. The concurrent NTEA Annual Convention, which will run from March 1-4, will feature a full educational conference with industry-specific sessions, providing timely information on industry trends and vehicle specification, as well as business and fleet management.

This year’s Work Truck Show will feature new training opportunities, special features and events that are all part of a one-stop marketplace for anyone seeking work truck equipment, solutions and training.

New in 2005, the International Truck and Engine Corporation will bring NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series racing to the Cyber Cafe with the company’s race-truck simulator. Attendees can test their skills in this replica of driver Terry Cook’s race truck. The Cyber Cafe is an area where, when not racing, show attendees can surf the Web and check e-mail.

Several new educational options will also be available at The Work Truck Show 2005. One addition is Allison Transmission’s training trailer. Visitors to this full-size tractor-trailer can interact with video presentations featuring Allison’s vocational models and new fourth-generation controls.
Fleet managers are invited to two exclusive training events. The first is a day-and-a-half Fleet Management Symposium, Feb. 28-March 1. The symposium, titled ‘Master’s Seminar in Advanced Equipment, Fleet and Shop Management,” is dedicated to helping vocational fleet managers reduce costs, risks and liabilities while maximizing performance. On March 3, a special truck-fleet manager training session and networking luncheon will explore ‘Lease vs. Purchase: Which Is Right for My Fleet?” The program will cover basic questions to ask when determining whether to purchase or lease new equipment.

Of course, there will be more than 30 other education and training sessions that will provide real-world insights, technical tips and solutions that attendees can utilize immediately.
Among special events, the racing-themed Opening Reception on March 1 will give attendees an opportunity to network with peers in a relaxed environment complete with games, full-size racecars and food.

Former Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole will present the keynote address during the President’s Breakfast & NTEA Annual Meeting on the morning of March 3. Howard Hyden, president of The Center for Customer Focus, will lead the Business Forum session on ‘Leadership for the Next Millennium” on March 4.

Of course, the crux of any Work Truck Show is the opportunity to get out on the trade floor and see the latest-and-greatest that the industry is offering. This year, attendees will have a total of 16 hours, from March 2-4, to cover the show floor. What they will see is North America’s largest gathering of Class 1-8 vocational trucks and equipment, enabling attendees to compare and spec’ custom chassis, bodies, accessories and components from 450 suppliers on a single show floor.
