Uponor’s New Pre-insulated PEX Pipe Offering Meets ASHRAE and IECC Energy-code Requirements

Uponor North America is extending its current pre-insulated crosslinked polyethylene pipe offering to include insulation thicknesses up to 2″ to comply with the ASHRAE 90.1-2013 Energy Code and the 2012 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). The new offering includes both Uponor AquaPEX® pipe for potable plumbing applications as well as Wirsbo hePEX™ oxygen-barrier pipe for hydronic heating and cooling applications.

In addition to its existing offering of ½” insulation surrounding ½” through 2″ Uponor AquaPEX pipe, Uponor is now offering the pipe sizes with 1″ and 1½” insulation. Uponor is also offering a completely new line of Pre-insulated Wirsbo hePEX pipe for hydronic heating and cooling applications. It is available in ½” through 2″ pipe sizes with ½”, 1″, 1½” and 2″ insulation.
