American Energy Coalition Creation

Across the country, utilities are taking advantage of the current discrepancies in fuel pricing and promoting oil heat to gas conversions. In response, home heating oil dealers have banded together to create the American Energy Coalition (AEC), a new grassroots organization committed to a direct, aggressive response to this challenge. AEC’s mission is to become the premier organization for competitive marketing for the home heating oil industry and to preserve its customer base.  The coalition plans to combat the gas utilities’ misleading ads via ongoing campaigns presenting the facts about heating oil’s safety, efficiency and pricing.

AEC believes that by working together, its members can make a difference ‘ strengthening the industry as well as their own businesses. The new association will be made up of supporters and members from all branches of the home heating oil industry ‘ independent home heating oil dealers large and small, statewide and regional organizations, equipment manufacturers, suppliers, independent petroleum marketers, lawyers, unions, banks and everyone in-between ‘ working cooperatively towards the same goal. AEC evolved from the former Metropolitan Energy Council, which provided similar services to dealers in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, but plans to grow into a truly nationwide organization with participation from ‘ and marketing for ‘ all industry members across the country.
