R.W. Beckett Corporation Undertakes Legislative Initiative

R.W. Beckett Corp. has recently worked to modernize its product line and develop more green technologies. The focus of Beckett’s efforts has been an electronic regulator for residential water boilers. This device, which costs less than $500 installed, can cut heating bills by about 30 percent, saving most homeowners a minimum of $300 a year according to the company.

Beckett is now taking its message to Capitol Hill, educating politicians about practical ways to quickly reduce fuel consumption, improve energy efficiency and generate American jobs. Beckett’s proposal calls for a one-time, $200 federal tax credit or rebate, to create incentive for homeowners to retrofit their existing boilers with an electronic regulator. If implemented to maximum effect, Beckett noted the proposal would:

Create over 2,500 American service and manufacturing jobs
Provide immediate, annual energy cost savings of around $300 per household
Reduce energy consumption equivalent to about 25 million barrels of oil/year
Lower greenhouse gases by almost 16 million tons/year

Beckett already has the support from the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 42 and the North Central Ohio Building and Construction Trades Council.
