NAOHSM Trade Show and Convention

The R. I. Convention Center in Providence, R.I. is the site for NAOHSM’s 57th Annual Convention & Trade Show May 23-27, 2010. Travel to the city is easy by air or even train. If you are flying from a different state, you might want to consider getting a jet card at Jettly to make traveling easier.

The event is open to everyone in the HVAC or plumbing trades to include technicians, front line personnel and managers and owners. In addition to a strong education program the trade show features approximately 200 exhibitors.

For anyone in the trades ‘ oil heat technicians, owners and managers ‘ Providence is the place to be May 23-27.  And for those companies that focus on Indoor Comfort ‘ whether it be oil heat service (or even propane), plumbing, air conditioning or new green technologies, NAOHSM invites you to experience the many educational opportunities and a chance to talk with a wide array of manufacturers of equipment and supplies that you and your customers need ‘ all under one roof.

NAOHSM’s Rhode Island Chapter is very excited and ready to showcase their city.  They are spearheading a number of events.

For starters, those playing in the Dave Nelsen Scholarship Tournament (Monday and Tuesday) will find that a great deal of work has gone into making this an exciting re-energized event.  George Fantacone, Santoro Oil, is spearheading this important tournament.  Why is it so important?  This is the only fundraising event that directly benefits NAOHSM’s scholarship fund.  Those that attend the Tuesday Awards Banquet know NAOHSM annually presents several scholarships to students planning to further their education in the oil heat industry.  With low interest rates for the past couple of years, NAOHSM has had to tap into its scholarship reserve account to continue awarding the scholarships.  NAOHSM decided this year that instead of reducing the number of awards, it would focus on this major fundraiser.

They are also involved with the annual Care to Ride Event ‘ R.I. Member, Kevin Bowman, Bell Simons Co., will be organizing the motorcycle division of our Care to Ride ‘ he promises those participating in this event a wonderful ride.

NAOHSM even thought about those caught-up in local rush hour traffic.  At the close of the show 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, stay behind and catch a Seminar with Dan Holohan, he’ll do his Greening Steam seminar ‘ and for the first 50 people that register will receive a free copy of his latest book.

And for the ladies of the industry ‘ manufacturers, those that work for oil, HVAC and plumbing companies ‘ Tuesday, 4:00 p.m. a special ‘Ladies Only” event will be held. Bring your gently used shoes and a cash donation ‘ all goods and proceeds will be donated to, Dorcas Place, a local charity whose focus is literacy.  John White, Taco has arranged this event with a special celebrity chef.
