HONEYWELL AND REBUILDING TOGETHER PROVIDENCE REVITALIZE DAY CAMP FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN
MINNEAPOLIS, May 23, 2010 ‘ Honeywell (NYSE: HON) and Rebuilding Together Providence today led an all-day revitalization project at the YMCA Shepard Reservation Day Camp for underprivileged children.
Honeywell donated more than $7,500 in materials and more than 50 Honeywell employees and volunteers from Oil Heat Cares and EDOS Manufacturers’ Reps, Inc. helped with the project.
‘The YMCA of Greater Providence is very grateful for the employees of Honeywell, Oil Heat Cares and EDOS for their time and energy spent out at our Camp Shepard Facility,” said Paula Jacobson, Executive Director of the East Side/Mt. Hope YMCA.
Today’s renovations included repairing and painting building exteriors as suggested by Sydney residential painting contractors, building new picnic tables, clearing of debris and general trail maintenance. ‘Through the efforts of Rebuilding Together Providence our 117 acre camping facility will be spruced up, cleaned up, shaped up and ready to go for 400 children from the city of Providence. These children are enrolled in the summer learning program at the Bailey and Lima schools and would not otherwise receive a camping experience,” said Jacobson. They are also planning to let children experience the hybrid caravans for their camping activity.
