MINNEAPOLIS, Jul. 30, 2010 ‘ Honeywell (NYSE: HON) announced that David Weekley Homes, one of the nation’s largest privately held homebuilders, named Honeywell a coveted 2010 “Partners of Choice Award” winner. The award is based on David Weekley Homes’ National Trading Partner Survey, a quarterly review of approximately 150 suppliers rated by team members of David Weekley Homes.

The National Trading Partner Survey is the cornerstone behind David Weekley Home’s Supplier Evaluation System. The system is groundbreaking in the nation’s home building industry, and US industry in general. The “Partners of Choice” Awards are presented to companies who maintained either an “A” rating in Quality or Service, or an “A,A” rating for both Quality and Service for the previous 12 months. Honeywell received an “A” rating for Quality in the 2010 survey program, and has been an award winner since its inception in 2003.

“We believe the survey is a practical way to measure world-class excellence,” said Bill Justus, vice president of supply chain services for David Weekley Homes. “It levels the playing field by allowing us to measure a company’s direct and channel performance against its competitors, and companies in completely different industries. We are able to use the results to continue to provide the best experience possible for our homeowners.”

Justus launched the unique supplier evaluation system to achieve a term he coined as “channel alignment.” He explains that channel alignment is when all parties within the supply chain work in unison to provide goods and services consistently in a timely, cost-effective manner The system provides feedback from David Weekley Homes’ builders, design center, warranty service, quality coaches, administrative personnel, sales, and executive team members. Partners like

Honeywell know exactly how they and their channel partners are doing in each segment ‘ and at every level ‘ inside the Weekley organization.

“The survey challenges Honeywell to be responsible for the performance of the entire supply chain,” said Tony Sugalski, vice president and general manager for Honeywell’s Environmental & Combustions Controls business. “This award recognizes Honeywell’s commitment to efficient, effective and timely delivery of our exceptional products. We are honored to accept this award as a result of that commitment.”
