Atlas Oil Expands Supply and Trading Team in Houston

Taylor, Michigan ‘ August 31, 2010.  Atlas Oil Company recently expanded its Supply and Trading team in Houston with the addition of four experienced fuel supply and trading executives.  The group is focused on optimizing supply in the Gulf Coast, Midwest, and Lower Atlantic regions.

Don Jensen, vice president of supply for Atlas, announced the hiring of Michael Allen, general manager, supply and business development, Xan Hatz, director, regional supply, Lee Overall, sales manager and Clint Werth, director, regional supply. The team has a combined history of more than 90 years in the fuel supply and trading business.

Michael Allen comes to Atlas from Conoco Phillips where he spent thirty years in various senior trading and commercial marketing positions.  Most recently, he was a Senior Trader, Crude Oil and Derivatives, where he managed futures, swaps, options and spreads and was consistently ranked as one of the top traders.  Allen received an MBA in Finance from the University of Utah and earned both a BS in Economics and a BA in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh.

Xan Hatz joins Atlas from Musket Corporation in Houston where she was Regional Trading Manager and business unit leader for the Eastern U.S.  Hatz has a significant background in logistics.  Before joining Musket Corporation, Hatz worked in marine logistics for Shell Chemical L.P and held business development positions with both Saybolt Energy and Gulf Energy.  Hatz attended University of Texas at Austin.

Lee Overall also comes to Atlas from Musket Corporation where he was a senior sales representative for wholesale accounts.  Overall has been in the fuel business for 23 years.  He previously worked in sales for O’Rourke Petroleum managing fuel accounts for the retail industry.  Overall also previously owned and operated a retail convenience store business.

Clint Werth joined Atlas four years ago from Denver, CO based TransMontaigne Product Services, Inc. and was recently promoted to director of regional supply at Atlas.  At TransMontaigne, he managed the transportation of 45 million gallons of petroleum products a month nationwide. In addition, he facilitated rail transport of renewable fuels and managed emergency fuel needs for hurricane relief in the State of Florida.  Werth earned a BA in Economics from the University of Colorado.
