Remember the good old days when you could repair a heating system with a screwdriver, a pair of water pumps and some chewing gum?  Remember when if you had a bearing assembly that was leaking out the weep hole and a No. 2 pencil took care of it, for a while?  Or how about just replacing the helix on a stack switch relay?  Or changing the bellows in the fuel unit?  You do?  Well, you had better keep that vision in your mind because you are not going to see them anywhere else.  Like the song said, ‘The times they are a changing!”


 


            Gone are the days of loading up a motor with oil or simply adjusting the bolts to quiet it down.  Come on, I did it and I know I am not the only one.  Well, I for one am glad to see the ‘good old days” gone forever.


 


            The tape measurer has given way to the laser measuring device.  Does anyone still use rotary thermostats anymore?  Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) has become an industry of its own.  I hope you have got the idea.   We need to move on with our testing procedures and our education.  Outdoor reset has been used in commercial work forever, and it is now coming to the residential home near you.  If you don’t know how it works, well
