Paraco Acquires Vitale Bottled Gas Bohemia, NY

Paraco Gas Corporation, a family owned and operated company and one of the largest independent propane retailers on the East Coast, has announced the acquisition of Vitale Bottled Gas in Bohemia, New York. With the acquisition this week, Paraco immediately assumes service and distribution of over 2,000,000 gallons of propane to 6,500 residential and commercial customers throughout Long Island previously served by Vitale.  In addition to Paraco’s existing Long Island branch locations in Bay Shore and Riverhead, they will now operate the Vitale office in Bohemia, NY.  Paraco will retain many of the employees from Vitale Bottled Gas.

Joseph Armentano, CEO of Paraco Gas, who operates the company with his brother John, said the acquisition will be seamless for existing Vitale Bottled Gas customers.

‘Vitale was very selective as to which company would acquire their propane business. George Vitale, Sr., owner of Vitale Bottled Gas, was a pioneer in the propane industry and had a long-standing relationship with the late Paraco founder, Pat Armentano.  He was very familiar with Paraco Gas and its tradition of excellent service and commitment to its customers. As a family owned and operated business with over 40 years of experience, we have a deep commitment to safety, customer service and community involvement,” Armentano said.

He stated, ‘Paraco Gas is large enough to provide the best value in propane products and services, yet small enough to meet the individual, unique and varied propane needs of each customer.”

Paraco Gas provides approximately 40 million gallons of propane to more than 80,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers in nine states, operates 25 propane distribution facilities and has over 280 employees.

Paraco Vice President Mike Gioffre pledged that the company would continue its long-standing tradition of giving back to the community by supporting local organizations and events. ‘We will continue this tradition with the organizations that are important to our customers served by our Bohemia location,” he said.
