Fuel Industry Leaders to Host Opening Business Session at NEFI Energy Summit

New England Fuel Institute (NEFI) announces that Dan Gilligan, President of the Petroleum Marketers Association of America (PMAA), will open the keynote business session at NEFI’s June 7-8 Energy Summit, Hynes Center, Boston, MA.  As in past years, the Energy Summit is the business seminar component to NEFI’s North American Heating & Energy Expo, which drew some 10,000 attendees in 2009 to its diversified array of exhibits and seminars.  The Summit’s keynote business session is designed to address the critical issues facing Oilheat, propane and other independent fuel marketing companies.

Mr. Gilligan began his service as PMAA president in 1998, following a diverse 22 year career as a lobbyist and association executive. PMAA is a national federation of 47 state and regional trade associations and collectively represents 8,000 independent petroleum marketing companies on legislative and regulatory matters, and often works in concert with NEFI and other associations to achieve its objectives.

Joining Dan will be Gene Guilford, President of the Independent Connecticut Petroleum Association (ICPA) and John Huber, President of the National Oilheat Research Alliance (NORA). Presentations will provide updates and commentary on key changes in Congress, including regulatory reform, NORA reauthorization, and LIHEAP funding.

Following those briefings will be Tom Butcher, Brookhaven National Laboratries (BNL) who will provide an update on promising R&D for Oilheat systems, bio- and related liquid fuel opportunities.
