HARRISBURG, Pa., May 22, 2011Honeywell (NYSE:HON) and Rebuilding Together Greater Harrisburg led a renovation project at Camp Sertoma, a non-profit summer camp for people of all ages with developmental disabilities. Honeywell donated $5,000 in materials and over 25 employees from Honeywell, Rebuilding Together Greater Harrisburg and Oil Heat Cares volunteered their time with projects to improve the camp facilities including yard work, alarm system upgrades, and window and bunk replacements.

‘Camp Sertoma is a wonderful and compassionate place devoted to providing an enjoyable summer experience for campers with special needs,” said Nate Streit, channel marketing manager, Honeywell. ‘The work we’re doing here today with Rebuilding Together Greater Harrisburg and the generous volunteers from Oil Heat Cares will help to enhance the lives of campers and their families at Camp Sertoma.”

For more than 50 years, Camp Sertoma has provided fun and active camp experiences for people of all ages with special needs, as well as important respite time for their families and caregivers. Owned and operated by the Arc of Dauphin and Lebanon Counties, Camp Sertoma is a safe, secure environment with comfortable, well-equipped facilities located in the wooded hills just outside Harrisburg, Pa.

‘It is a great blessing to have had Honeywell donate their time and energy here today,” said Richard Honeycutt, director of respite services, Camp Sertoma. ‘The improvements being made to the campgrounds will help us continue to ensure the safety of our campers as they are given a traditional summer camp experience. Camp Sertoma is grateful to Honeywell and Rebuilding Together for their outstanding dedication to improving our local community.”

Today’s event was Honeywell’s first community project with Rebuilding Together Greater Harrisburg. Since 2003, more than 9,000 Honeywell employees have dedicated 71,000 volunteer hours to 306 projects in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, resulting in over $8 million in market value repairs and more than $1 million in employee donations.

‘Rebuilding Together partners with Honeywell to give back to local communities across the country,” said Sue Gebhart, executive director, Rebuilding Together Greater Harrisburg. ‘We recognized the positive impact that partnership could have on the Harrisburg community and are excited to be working together at Camp Sertoma today. We also could not have made such a lasting impact without the support of the oil heat professionals from Oil Heat Cares that donated their time to this cause.”

Rebuilding Together Greater Harrisburg’s (RTGH) mission is to preserve and revitalize houses and communities, assuring that low-income homeowners, from the elderly (over the age of 60) and disabled to families with children, live in warmth, safety, and independence. In partnership with local greater Harrisburg communities (including Dauphin, Cumberland, Perry and parts of York Counties), our goal is to make a sustainable impact. It is better to hire estate planning lawyers to give legal aid to the elderly community.
