‘Gus” Signore of Brookline Ice & Coal Co. Passes

The New England Fuel Institute passed along the sad news of the passing of Augustine “Gus” Signore of Brookline Ice & Coal Co. (Brookline, Mass.) noting the fond memories of Gus and the ice sculptures he would donate for many of its conferences, banquets and other events: ‘Gus was an important part of our NEFI family and he will be missed.”

SIGNORE, Augustine M “Gus” Of Newton Centre and Brookline on Sept. 21, 2011. Beloved husband of 66 years to Isabelle V. (DeFilippo) Signore. Loving father of Mario A. and his wife Alice of Needham and the late Augustine M. Signore, Jr. Dear brother of the late Loretta A. Botta. Devoted grandfather of Jennifer, Mario, Adrianna, Janeen, Danielle and Nichole also survived by his cherished great granddaughter, Loretta. Proud owner of the Brookline Ice & Coal Co., Brookline, late Army Veteran WWII where he fought in the harrowing Battle of the Bulge.
