WESTMORE FUEL OPENS NEW BIOHEAT FACILITY – BRINGING CLEANER HEATING FUELS TO NY & CT

[Port Chester, NY]  The Independent Connecticut Petroleum Association is pleased to announce that Mr. Rick Bologna [seen above with the scissors cutting the ribbon] of the Westmore Fuel Company of Greenwich, CT, opened his company’s new 1.2 million gallon BioHeat supply plant in Port Chester, New York. Westmore Fuel serves heating fuels consumers in Westchester County, NY and Fairfield County, Connecticut. Westmore Fuel first began delivering BioHeat in 2008 and the opening of this new BioHeat plant marks a tremendous investment in the community and the investment of a better home heating fuel for consumers.

BioHeat is a new heating fuel for our region, comprised of renewable, domestically produced, cleaner burning fuels derived from agricultural oils. BioHeat is heating oil blended with biodegradable, organic materials such as soybean oil – is one of the “hottest” things happening in home comfort. Renewable and non-toxic, Bioheat is not only kind to Mother Earth; it’s kind to heating systems, too.

Westmore Fuel’s new BioHeat supply project is a collaborative effort between Westmore Fuel, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), the Clean Cities Coalition, the National Biodiesel Board and Ultra Green Energy Services, LLC.

In opening his company’s new BioHeat plant today Rick said, “Our company was started by my grandfather in 1938 and began by delivering coal, and then oil with my father’s stewardship and now we begin thinking of the company my children will inherit from me and this BioHeat project marks the beginning of our company delivering the cleanest, renewable, domestically produced fuel in the nation.”  Dennis Pilla, Mayor of Port Chester, attended the ceremony and congratulated Rick and Westmore Fuel for the outstanding service they bring consumers on both sides of the border, for always being there when consumers need them, and now for his leadership in a unique public-private partnership in bringing BioHeat to the area and the tremendous environmental and economical benefits BioHeat means to home and business heating.

The efforts of companies like Westmore Fuel to bring the very best in cleaner, renewable and domestically produced heating fuels to consumers, literally dozens of companies all across Connecticut, is why Connecticut needs a responsible, balanced and market-driven energy plan – not one focused only on natural gas.
