Until now customers had to place special orders for gauges because it was impractical for distributors to carry inventory for the myriad possible sizes of above ground storage tanks. This cost customers like oil and lube service centers, fuel oil dealers and farm operators added expense and downtime.
“Adjustable Jarhead allows customers to purchase a gauge that fits their needs on the spot. There is no downtime and no error from incorrect depth measurements. Customers can set it once and forget it. Or they can move Adjustable Jarhead to another tank of a different depth,” said Paul Nilsen, BJE Product Design Engineer.
The Adjustable Jarhead is available in four models which are infinitely adjustable within their size range and will cover tank depths ranging from 18 to 72 inches. Rigid members telescope to the desired tank depth and are secured by patent-pending brass linkages. An adjustable float chain connects to a high visibility orange cap indicator inside a durable, waterproof glass jar where fluid levels are clearly displayed corresponding to the movement of a polypropylene float inside the tank. UV resistant paint makes the gauge scale easy to read. Adjustable Jarhead installs quickly and is available with two inch or 1 1/2″ inch NPT threads.
“Distributors can hold inventory down by stocking the four Adjustable Jarhead varieties. They will also avoid costly special orders for tank gauges not in stock. As a result, they will serve customers very well,” said Roger Wiersma, BJE Product Development Engineer.
