NEFI Expo Draws 1,500; Institute Relocates to Worcester
Approximately 1,500 people attended NEFI Expo, June 14-15 at the DCU Center in Worcester, Mass., said Martha Leshine, acting president and CEO. Exhibiting companies numbered 189 and more than a dozen trucks were on display.
The educational program included two sessions on propane, in recognition of the diversification trend among fuel oil marketers, Leshine said.
Shortly after the Expo, NEFI moved its offices from Lexington, Mass., to Worcester. The new address for NEFI is: 20 Franklin St., Suite 402, Worcester, Mass. 01608. The telephone number remains the same: 617-924-1000. The website also is unchanged: www.nefi.com.
The organization took a moment at its annual meeting, held during the Expo, to recognize its member services administrator, Christine Vieira-Trant, who worked for NEFI for 30 years, and decided not to make the move to the new quarters in Worcester. In her tenure with NEFI, Vieira-Trant said, she wore many hats, including controller, executive vice president and chief operating officer. Mike Estes of Estes Oil Burner Service in York, Me., NEFI’s chairman, presented her with a going-away gift.—Stephen Bennett
