Dennis K. Burke Sends Trucks, Drivers to Houston
Dennis K. Burke, Inc., based in Taunton, Mass., mobilized three tankers on Aug. 28 to head to Fort Hood, a military base in Killeen, Texas, to help with emergency management needs in the Houston area in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. The drivers of the trucks are Jorge Acosta, Jose Guardado and Scott Monaghan. Dennis K Burke Inc. is operating as a subcontractor on behalf of FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and says it looks forward to doing everything it can to help.
Harvey made landfall as a Category 4 storm and has dumped a years’ worth of rain on the Houston and Southeast Texas areas, causing devastating floods. According to the National Weather Service, “if Southeast Texas were New England, the area in which 20-30 inches of rain had fallen over the first three days of the storm would encompass all of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.”
