The Connecticut Energy Marketers Association held its 67th Annual Meeting in conjunction with the Southern New England Energy Conference, co-sponsored by the Massachusetts Energy Marketers Association and the Oilheat Institute of Rhode Island.

During the Awards Luncheon on Sept. 18, CEMA honored three individuals for their work in promoting the industry and its causes: Greg Stafstrom of Springbrook Ice and Fuel in New Britain (at right, in picture, with presenter Peter Aziz of BantamWesson) received the Marketer of the Year Award for his extensive legislative efforts; Danny Gentile from Torrco in Waterbury received the Associate of the Year Award for his efforts in blocking natural gas expansion; and Katie Baker received the “TR” Award for her testimony at a legislative hearing that almost singlehandedly stopped the passage of a carbon tax.
