South Central Pennsylvania Energy Association Embarks on Third Year

The South Central Pennsylvania Energy Association is gearing up for its third year of activities. The next dinner meeting for members is scheduled for Thursday, March 22, at Gilligan’s Bar & Grill, 987 Eisenhower Blvd. in Harrisburg.

The association was formed in January 2016 to represent the counties of Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry and York, and to take advantage of funding available from the National Oilheat Research Alliance (NORA), says SCPEA Executive Director Len Zvorsky. He is based in Mt. Joy, Pa., and can be reached at 717-892-2209 and at Scpea4@gmail.com.

The president of the association is Matt Linder of HB McClure Co. in Harrisburg; the vice president is Bruce Spiridonoff, based in Pennsylvania for Tevis Energy, which is headquartered in Westminster, Md. The treasurer is Keith Reitz of Reitz Oil in Lancaster.

Directors are: Chris Crooks, Talley Petroleum in Grantville; Mike DeBerdine of Rhoads Energy in Lancaster; Jesse McNeely of Reitz Oil in Lancaster; Vince Mitchell of W.C. Eshenaur & Son in Harrisburg; Mark Smith, based in-state for Advanced Fuel Solutions, which is headquartered in North Andover, Mass.; Jason Flohr, Edris Oil, York; and Tom McKenzie, Penn-Mar Oil, Waynesboro. Zvorsky says John Huber of NORA and Ted Harris and Bob Boltz of the Pennsylvania Petroleum Association were instrumental in helping to form the new group and get it running.

Currently there are 35 dealer members and 30 associate members. The group holds monthly board meetings; dinner meetings are held every other month

The group works with Warm Thoughts on NORA’s PRO$ Campaign; with Consumer Focus on the NORA Social Media Campaign; with Primedia on the Alliance’s Tank Rebate Program; and it works with Amerigreen Energy on sponsorships for its golf outing.
