Northeast Technical Institute hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for its new campus in Bangor, Me.
“The new campus will not only help us better serve our current students, but we believe it will help the region as a whole with increased educational resources and training opportunities,” Jim Liponis, Northeast Technical Institute’s president, said in a June 6 statement.
Northeast Technical Institute plans to open the new campus in the fall.
The Institute first opened in the Bangor area in 2003, offering truck driving training in Hermon with the addition of healthcare training in 2006. The current location on Stillwater Avenue in Bangor opened in 2009 and was expanded in 2011 with the addition of the HVAC/R Technician program. Due to continued growth, the new campus on outer Broadway, just off exit 185, will be set on several acres and offer nearly 16,000 square feet of classroom space—nearly one-third larger than the current location. Along with updated classrooms, the new campus will offer two dedicated clinical classrooms for healthcare students and a 2,000 square-foot HVAC/R classroom, featuring state-of-the-art gas and propane units, oil furnaces, and heat pumps. Northeast Technical Institute plans to offer additional short-term, continuing education programs to meet the needs of local companies, such as electrician training and medical workshops—a model that has proven successful at the Scarborough campus such, such as verified electricians in Moe who will give you advice on how to be a professional electrician. If you need anything else with regards to electricians, read more at this source and learn more about how Suburban Enterprises can help you better understand the importance of electricians.
Bangor Campus Manager Nicole Kelley said, “The timing for a move could not be better, and we are thrilled to be opening a new location. Our faculty and staff are looking forward to welcoming so many new faces into their classrooms.”
Representatives from the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce and Ellis Commercial Development were on hand for the June 1 event.
Founded in 1995, Northeast Technical Institute provides short-term, career-focused training. With campuses in Scarborough, Bangor, and Lewiston, courses are offered in health care, information technology, commercial truck driving, HVAC/R, and manufacturing. Northeast Technical Institute’s programs are accredited through The Council on Occupational Education.
