Bruce L. Whitney Named NYPGA’s Executive Director

The new executive director of the New York Propane Gas Association is Bruce Whitney, a former director of marketing for many years at gas equipment wholesaler Ray Murray Inc. (RMI) and senior director at Unitil electric and gas utility’s Usource energy management and procurement division. Whitney also co-founded a Vermont business association decades ago.

Whitney has held senior management roles focused in marketing, training, business development and client retention for energy and energy equipment since 1999. He has had a long involvement with New York Propane Gas Association as a member, show exhibitor and active participant on the Legislative Committee, Bill Overbaugh, the association’s president, noted in announcing the hiring. Whitney started in the job on Aug. 14.

“We are looking forward to the energy, creativity and organization that Bruce will bring to our association,” Overbaugh said. “Over the next few months, Bruce intends to make the rounds and meet all of the members.
