OBITUARY: Holbrook Cole Bissell, Jr.: 1935-2020

Holbrook Cole Bissell, Jr., former president of Time Saving Fills in York, Pennsylvania, where he had a long career, died on June 21. He was 85. For 30 years, Bissell had lived in Dorset, Vermont, where he enjoyed fishing, hunting and skiing.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on May 23, 1935, the son of Holbrook, Sr. and Gertrude, Bissell spent his childhood in Albany, N.Y., and went on to graduate from Sienna College, Loudonville, N.Y. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Cole Rinker. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Bettye” Bissell, his children, Brian Bissell, Brent Bissell, and Betsy Bissell Bradley, as well as his step-daughters Deborah Staruch and Jennifer Myers-Holsinger, and their spouses. He was a beloved grandfather, affectionately called “Monk” by his grandchildren. He was a long-time parishioner at Saint Theresa’s Catholic Church in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
