Superior Plus Propane announced a new charitable giving partnership with Feeding America to help customers save on propane while giving to families in need.
Every new customer who signs up with Superior by Jan. 31, 2021, will receive a $200 credit, and Superior will donate $25 to a food bank in the customer’s community through Feeding America, the company said. Feeding America is a nationwide network of 200 local food banks and 60,000 food pantries and meal programs that together serve more than 40 million people each year.
“Families across America are feeling the strain from the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Lauren Biedron, vice president of corporate partnerships at Feeding America. “As we navigate the coming months, it is support from partners like Superior Plus Propane that help our network of food banks provide more meals to communities in need.”
The organization says one dollar helps to provide at least ten meals secured by Feeding America on behalf of local member food banks.
Superior has committed to donating up to $175,000 — equivalent to 1.75 million meals — in the communities it serves, which are on the East Coast from Florida to Maine, as well as in the Midwest and California.
Andy Peyton, president of Superior Plus Propane, based in Rochester, N.Y., said, “We are proud to partner with Feeding America to fuel hope for families and help solve hunger and food insecurity in our community.” Learn more about the fundraiser at propaneoffer.com.
Feeding America also supports programs that prevent food waste and improve food security; educates the public about the problem of hunger; and advocates for legislation that protects people from going hungry. For more information visit www.feedingamerica.org.
