Robert Barry of Bergquist, Inc. Appointed NPGA Chair
With over 36 years of involvement and leadership at Bergquist Inc., the industry leader in wholesale propane equipment distribution, Chief Financial Officer, Robert ‘Bob’ Barry, has assumed the role of chair of the National Propane Gas Association (NPGA). This role was confirmed at the NPGA’s Board of Directors Meeting in June.
Barry entered the propane industry as controller for Bergquist, later rising to the position of president and chief executive officer. During his time with the company, Bergquist has expanded from a single distribution center to a national distributor of propane equipment with more than 50 employees and five facilities across the United States. The company is headquartered in Toledo, Ohio.
Throughout his tenure at Bergquist, Barry has demonstrated sustained involvement with the NPGA, serving as Distributor Section chair, Audit Committee chair, and as a member of the Executive and Member Services committees.
“Having served the NPGA in past capacities, I am honored to move forward as chair for the organization,” said Barry. “I look forward to collaborating with other leaders to strengthen and shape the future of the propane industry.”
As NPGA Chair, Barry will advocate on behalf of small businesses and large corporations participating in the retail marketing of propane gas and appliances, working to advance safety and increase the use of propane through sound public policy.
