Mike Chiarella says he wears a mask entering and leaving a house, and takes it off if he’s working alone in the basement. From the beginning of the pandemic no customers ever expressed any reluctance to have him enter their house, he said during a brief interview in January.

Chiarella’s Heating & Cooling (www.chiarellashvac.com) serves the western Connecticut town of New Milford and environs. The company offers heating, air conditioning, and indoor air quality service, including equipment repair, system replacement, and tune-ups The company is veteran- and family-owned. “Our technicians will even troubleshoot your heater or air conditioner problem with you over the phone,” Chiarella says. “If the issue turns out to be more complex than we’ve anticipated, our team will be there for you right away. We charge a small service fee, but we will waive this when we complete the job.”
