CEMA Sues the Conn. Department of Energy & Environmental Protection and the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority

CEMA has filed a lawsuit in Hartford Superior Court against the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority alleging both the agency and regulatory board violated state environmental laws in an effort to fast-track Governor Malloy's energy plan to convert 280,000 homes and businesses from oil to gas.

DOE Updates National Reference Standard for Commercial Buildings to 90.1-2013

Following preliminary analysis that ASHRAE/IES's 2013 energy efficiency standard contains energy savings over the 2010 standard ' 8.5 percent source energy savings and 7.6 site energy savings ' the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has issued a ruling that establishes the 2013 standard as the commercial building reference standard for state building energy codes.

Sprague Resources LP Announces Closing of Metromedia Energy Acquisition

Sprague Resources LP announced on Oct. 1 that its wholly owned subsidiary, Sprague Operating Resources LLC, has completed the purchase of Metromedia Gas & Power, Inc.'s natural gas marketing and electricity brokerage business assets for $22 million in cash and the assumption of liabilities under pre-existing forward supply contracts.
