2025 Eastern Energy Expo: Malcolm Anderson, Man On a Mission
At the OESP Student Activity Center, the participants were mostly young tech school students earning credentials they need to land their first job and launch a career. Malcolm Anderson was a little different. At 55, after a career that he said included eight years in the military, 12 years as a civilian working for the military, and stints in real estate and farming – “Google ‘Black Hemp Farmer of the Year,’ and you’ll see me” – Anderson is now making a fresh start in all things HVAC and HVAC-related, attending Pennco Tech in Blackwood, New Jersey.

“I’ll be done with HVAC in July,” Anderson said while taking a break from the OESP Student Activity Center at the Eastern Energy Expo in Atlantic City in May. After he earns his HVAC creds, Anderson plans to earn a plumbing certification, and an electrician certification, and launch his own business. His future customers, Anderson predicted, “won’t be able to get me out of the house – I’ll fix everything.”
