Copper Thieves Trigger 100 Gallon Fuel Oil Spill

BRISTOL, Mass. ‘ Burglars who broke into a vacant Bristol church to steal copper flooded the building’s basement with fuel oil leading to a hazardous materials incident, reports the Bucks County Courier Times.


A property caretaker discovered the damage Thursday afternoon at the Church of the Nazarene in the 2000 block of Wilson Avenue, Bristol Building Inspector John Miller said. The church has been vacant for several years and was condemned, he added.
