Thieves Steal $3,500 in Diesel and Heating Oil

Someone stole more than $3,500 in diesel fuel and heating oil from an Upper Macungie Township concrete business over the weekend, police told the Allentown, Pa., newspaper The Morning Call.

Upper Macungie police responded to the theft early Monday morning where they found that someone stole diesel fuel from three concrete mixers and heating oil from a storage tank.  The theft added up to $3,519, police said.

The theft begs the question, how secure are oil tanks? Certainly thefts like this are rare, but as oil prices continue to rise, will marketers need to begin addressing security measures ‘ especially for business customers.
