House Passes $484 Billion Bill for Small Businesses, Hospitals, Testing
The House passed a $484 billion spending package on Thursday, April 23.
The Senate had already cleared the bill, by voice vote, on Tuesday, April 21, and President Trump has promised to sign the bill immediately into law, the New England Fuel Institute noted in a Legislative Alert emailed to members.
The bill includes $310 billion for the Paycheck Protection Program, which offers forgivable loans designed to help small businesses keep workers on their payroll, NEFI reports. The bill includes other programs to assist businesses.
“It is unclear how long this second round of funding will last,” the Institute noted. “Businesses seeking assistance under these programs should act now.”
