Paraco Gas Corp. acquired F M Popovich & Sons, Ashland, Massachusetts.
Paraco acquired the Popovich business on Oct. 14, as owners Fred and Hildegard Popovich retired, Paraco said in a Nov. 18 announcement.
The Popovich family business was founded by Fred and Wilma Popovich in 1946 and grew to serve approximately 850 propane customers. Fred Popovich, president of F M Popovich & Sons, said, “Paraco had been serving Worcester County with propane product for over a decade. They already know our customers’ needs and our supply demands very well, so this will be an easy and seamless transition.”
Christina Armentano, executive vice president of Paraco Gas, said the acquisition “combines two strong brands in Worcester County, it demonstrates our commitment to continued growth into New England, and it is a perfect fit with our community-focused family business.”
Paraco (www.paracogas.com), a privately held propane company headquartered in Rye Brook, N.Y., has 27 distribution locations and serves more than 120,000 residential and commercial customers in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont.
