Jim Buhrmaster, the president of Buhrmaster Energy Group, a family-owned small business with a diverse portfolio of home heating and cooling products and services, is running as a Republican for New York’s 21st Congressional seat in the U.S. Congress. Buhrmaster currently serves as vice chairman of the Schenectady County Legislature’s Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee. This is his second term in the legislature.
The Buhrmaster Energy Group serves the Greater Capital District Region with premium heating oils and equipment installations, natural gas heating installation and central air conditioning service. The company was founded in 1913 by Buhrmaster’s grandfather who delivered coal to customers with a horse and wagon.
Educated at Scotia-Glenville Central Schools, Buhrmaster is a graduate of Syracuse University with a degree in business administration. He and his wife Sandra have four sons and six grandchildren.
