reliatech’s Dr. Guan to Present at the ASHRAE 2010 Annual Conference


Reston, VA ‘ reliatech‘s Dr. Yanzheng (Don) Guan, Ph.D., P.E., CxA, CEM, LEED AP BD+C will present at the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) 2010 Annual Conference June 27 in Albuquerque, NM.

Dr. Guan, Chief Mechanical Engineer for reliatech, will present a speech titled “Reliability-Centered Commissioning Service for Mission Critical Data Center Facilities”. His presentation will be part of a seminar titled “Commissioning Mission Critical Data Centers”. He will describe how reliability-centered commissioning service is crucial to avoiding down-time and maintaining energy efficiency for mission critical data center facilities. He will identify specific challenges for commissioning, re-commissioning, and retro-commissioning, and will also introduce an innovative “paperless” commissioning technology that reliatech is developing. Part of the firm’s sustainable project delivery process, this new approach is designed to replace the current paper-intensive process and integrate commissioning with data center facility operation and management.

As Chief Mechanical Engineer for reliatech, Dr. Guan provides technical support and leadership on mission critical facility consulting, commissioning, and risk analysis, as well as energy audits and green design projects. He is a non-voting member of the ASHRAE Technical Committees (TC) 9.9 – Mission Critical Facilities and TC 7.9 – Building Commissioning.

Dr. Guan notes, “My seminar is intended to assist data center professionals in developing a life-cycle commissioning solution for mission critical facilities that incorporates not only efficiency and sustainability during “normal” operations, but also survivability during abnormal operations and conditions.”
