Dear Scott,
On behalf of the fuel dealers in Maine, Massachusetts, and Vermont that deliver heating oil and
kerosene to homes and businesses in New Hampshire, we respectfully ask the New Hampshire
Road Toll Bureau to delay implementation of electronic reporting of home heating oil deliveries
by six months.
January is typically the busiest month of the year for heating fuel dealers. Many of these
companies are small family businesses, where the owner of the company is delivering product
during the winter months. Extending the January 1 deadline to July 1 would provide these
businesses the ability to focus on delivering heat during the winter months and give them time to
get into compliance. This extension would allow certified companies to file electronically if they
wish, yet give the heating fuel dealers additional time to learn this new collection system and
complete the certification process.
Thank you for your consideration.
