Lykins Companies has purchased Brinkman Oil Company, headquartered in Walton, Kentucky.  Brinkman Oil services the Greater Northern Kentucky area including Boone, Kenton, Campbell, Grant, Gallatin and Pendleton counties.  All of Brinkman Oil’s staff, including its owner, Emma Obertate, will remain with the company and the phone number will also remain the same.  Obertate says she knew instantly when meeting the Lykins family that Lykins was the right fit for her company to consolidate with.  She said their business practices, happy employees, satisfied customers and commitment to community service assured her Lykins was the right fit for Brinkman Oil.

Brinkman Oil was founded by Richard Brinkman in 1971.  When he retired in 2005, his daughter Emma, who had worked in the company for many years, took over the company.

‘I’m very excited about this consolidation.  It’s the combination of two great companies combining resources and buying power to deliver even better products and customer service than each of our individual companies had already achieved and delivered to customers,” says Obertate.

Obertate adds that she encourages all Brinkman customers to continue to do business with the new owners. ‘The Northern Kentucky office will be run by the same people our customers have known and trusted for 40 years, just with a  different company name.  People can expect the same top quality operating standards and service level, with an even greater drive to exceed customer expectations.”

With Lykins as the new owner, Northern Kentucky residential customers will continue to have home heating oil and other petroleum products to choose from.  Commercial clients will also have outstanding fuel options including alternative fuels like E-85 and Bio-Diesel.  Now, under Lykins, area gas stations and convenience stores will have the choice of Shell, BP, Marathon, Exxon/Mobil, and Clark brands as well as unbranded fuel.

Lykins Oil’s President, Jeff Lykins, says the purchase of Brinkman expands Lykins presence in Northern Kentucky. ‘We look forward to working with the businesses and residents to supply them with the best oil options, product selection and customer service possible.”
