Berks-Schuylkill Oil Heat Association Donates $3,450 to Salvation Army

Orwigsburg, PA ‘ February, 17, 2011 ‘ The Berks-Schuylkill Oil Heat Association (BSOHA) donated $3,450 to both the Berks and Schuylkill County Salvation Army on Thursday, February 17, 2011. The program was introduced 6-years ago and has generated nearly $25,000 to help the heating needs of the less fortunate.

Several years ago the Board of Directors of BSOHA decided to start a program to give back to the community. After weighing several options, the board chose The Salvation Army as the beneficiary and thus began the annual fundraiser. Even in these tough economic times, the association was able to make a sizable donation. Ms. Lisa Mills and Ms. Tammy Hench, of the Schuylkill County Salvation Army were on hand as well as Mr. Colin DeVault and Ms. Mindy McCormick of the Berks County Corps were on hand to accept the presentation from BSOHA President Kevin Steele of H.B. Steele & Son, Inc., Orwigsburg.

Donations were received from the following companies: Angus Partners LLC, Boston Environmental, Buckeye Energy Services, BRT, Earl R. Martin Inc., Elite Fuel Services LLC, Global Companies LLC, Hafer Petroleum Equipment Ltd., H.B. Steele & Son Inc., Jack Rich Inc., Penn Pride Inc., Petroleum Products Corporation, Kintzer Fuels and R.W. Fetters Inc.

As an organization comprised of independent heating oil distributors and dealers, and associated industries, The Berks-Schuylkill Oil Heat Association exists to promote and educate current and prospective heating oil customers as to the benefits of Oil Heat and to support local oil companies, providing a wide range of products and services to enhance their customers’ satisfaction.
