Sam Bell of Echols Oil is new PMAA chairman
Sam Bell, chief executive officer of Echols Oil Company Inc., Greenville, S.C., was elected chairman of the Petroleum Marketers Association of America (PMAA) at the group’s Fall Board Meeting in Atlanta, Ga. Bell will take office in January 2014.
Bell has been around the oil business his entire life as his father was a marketing representative for Exxon, the association reports in its Oct. 18 Weekly Review. Bell still has connections with Exxon as CEO of Fred H. Wood Oil Company, an Exxon jobber in Fountain Inn, S.C. His duties as PMAA chairman will include helping to guide the association through complicated legislative and regulatory issues.
Others elected to the 2014 Executive Committee include: 1st Vice Chairman: Grady Gaubert, Louisiana; 2nd Vice Chairman: Mike Bailey, Wyoming; Northeast Region Chair: Sharon Peterson, Connecticut; North Central Region Chair: Mark Whitehead, Nebraska; Southeast Region Chair: Daniel Erwin, North Carolina; South Central Region Association Executive: Ron Leone, Missouri; Western Region Association Executive: Suzanne Budge, Idaho.
The elections were held on Oct. 12.
