Attend the Work Truck Show® 2015 to Find Solutions to the Issues Keeping You Awake at Night

What’s keeping you awake at night? As part of its efforts to continuously improve The Work Truck Show®, NTEA ‘ The Association for the Work Truck Industry has added several new features for 2015 to provide answers for many of the common issues facing fleet managers.

The Work Truck Show 2015, North America’s largest work truck event, is held March 4’6 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, IN. Educational programming, including the Green Truck Summit, begins March 3.

‘After more than 50 years of serving the work truck industry, we know our attendees’ businesses and the challenges they face,” says Steve Carey, NTEA executive director. ‘Every day, fleet managers are challenged to control operating costs, maximize return on equipment dollars, evaluate new technology, and ensure the fleet makes a positive contribution to their organizations. By tailoring The Work Truck Show 2015’s features and educational sessions to address these themes, we can provide attendees with actionable information to take home and use to improve their fleet operations.”

Controlling Fleet Operating Costs

Many of the more than 10,000 people who attend The Work Truck Show annually are fleet managers who are new to the position or individuals who are responsible for fleet management within their organizations. To help these attendees find practical ways to better control their operating costs, the NTEA added ‘Fleet Management 101: Fundamentals of Truck Fleet Management” to The Work Truck Show’s slate of educational sessions. Additional concurrent sessions on idle-reduction strategies, equipment purchasing, operating metrics, and life-cycle cost analysis will also provide essential insights from fleet experts.

The Green Truck Summit, the only alternative fuel and technology conference held in conjunction with the largest dedicated vocational truck event in North America, also has been enhanced to better showcase new products and fleet management strategies. Clean vehicle technology trends, shared implementation insights, funding opportunities for green initiatives and changes in upcoming fuel efficiency regulations will be addressed.

‘The Green Truck Summit provides guidance for each step of the clean fleet implementation process,” says Carey. ‘At the conclusion of the Green Truck Summit, fleet managers will have a better understanding of current and future regulatory compliance issues, along with an increased awareness of the latest developments in alternative fuels and fuel-saving technologies.”

Maximizing Return on Equipment Dollars

New educational sessions have been developed to help fleet managers maximize the return on their equipment investments. These sessions will help attendees determine when they should lease or purchase, how to analyze life-cycle costs, the steps needed to right-size their fleets, and the proper way to develop truck chassis specifications.

Evaluating New Technology

Several features at The Work Truck Show 2015 make it easy for attendees to learn about innovative new trucks, equipment and technologies. On the show floor, the Productivity and Fuels Pavilion will be filled with displays of clean vehicle technologies used by today’s fleets. Attendees can also try out cutting-edge advanced technology for themselves at the Green Truck Ride-and-Drive.

To provide a comprehensive overview of new products available in the rapidly changing industry, The Work Truck Show 2015 includes a New Exhibitor Showcase and New Product Spotlight. These two programs highlight new products and exhibitors in pre-show coverage and with special signage on-site. Also, during the show, 15 of the world’s leading vocational chassis manufacturers will present exclusive Chassis Update sessions on what’s new and upcoming with their product lines.

Ensuring a Positive Fleet Impact

The success of a fleet ultimately depends on whether it provides a positive impact on the larger organization.

To help attendees reach this goal, The Work Truck Show 2015 includes dedicated programming about boosting fleet efficiency and decreasing fuel costs. Guidance is provided at sessions that focus on best practices from fellow fleet managers who have successfully deployed advanced truck technologies to benefit their organizations.

The changes for 2015 are not limited to the trade show floor and educational sessions. NTEA will host The Work Truck Show’s first Rhythm & Blues Extravaganza on March 5. This new industry party will be held at one of the nation’s top blues venues, the Slippery Noodle Inn, and feature live music from the Jeremiah Johnson Band. Additional Work Truck Show events include the Opening Reception on March 3 at the JW Marriott Indianapolis and the President’s Breakfast & NTEA Annual Meeting featuring keynote speaker Tony Dungy on March 5.
