Dead River Company, South Portland, Maine, will soon be under new leadership as its current COO, Casey Cramton, becomes President and CEO.

Thirty-six years after first walking through the doors, Deanna Sherman announced she will retire as President and CEO at the end of June and transition to the role of Senior Advisor.

Cramton has over 35 years of experience at Dead River Company and will become President and CEO on July 1.

“I could not be more pleased that Casey Cramton will become the new President and CEO,” said Sherman. “Throughout his career, which started in 1989 as a Manager Trainee, Casey has always been ready and eager to take on more responsibility. His leadership and experience within both the industry and company earned him his appointment to COO when I became president in 2016.

“The faith Deanna has shown in me, and the commitment all Dead River employees give to this company and our customers make it exciting to come to work every day,” said Cramton. “Deanna has done an exemplary job of leading this organization, most recently through the pandemic. We have continued to grow, while remaining true to our motto of ‘delivering on a promise’ to our customers and the communities we serve.”

“Our company is strong, and I am humbled and honored to be asked to lead this talented team into the future. I’m confident we’ll do great things together.”
