Maine EMA Adds Staffers
Colleen Ege and Nicholas Scarfo joined the staff at the Maine Energy Marketers Association.
The association noted that Ege “brings with her quite a bit of knowledge of the industry.” Prior to joining MEMA, Ege was a propane manager and service dispatcher at Fielding’s Oil & Propane, and before that she was a heating oil technician for a smaller company in Scarborough, Maine.
As an administrative assistant, Ege works with the MEMA Technical Education Center and their instructors, helping to develop educational resources. Since starting in November, she has helped the school implement new tools and study materials for the students, including virtual classrooms for extra study material, and tablets for each student, loaded with the books and course matter. She has also been following the classes closely and has achieved her Universal EPA certification and Tank Setter & Outside Piping license.
Scarfo, who started in January, is the marketing and communication coordinate for the association and for its Technical Education Center. He is a December 2021 graduate of the University of New England, with a B.A. in Communications. While at UNE, he was a member of the university’s inaugural football team in 2017, continuing through his collegiate career. He contributed to UNE’s online publication, The Bolt, where he reported on athletics. MEMA advocates for its members in Augusta and in the news, informing legislators and the public about Maine’s energy industry.
