Sean Cota joins Cetane Associates LLC as Managing Director

Long time industry advocate Sean Cota has joined Cetane Associates LLC as managing director.  Cota is a third generation energy marketer and has held several major positions throughout the industry including chairman of the Petroleum Marketers Association of America and the president of the New England Fuel Institute.  Cota is well known for his work representing the industry for commodity trading transparency and reform, where he has testified before the United States Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives.

Ultra Petroleum Announces Pinedale Acquisition

 Ultra Petroleum Corp. (NYSE: UPL) announced today that the company has signed a purchase and sale agreement to acquire all Pinedale field properties from SWEPI, LP, an affiliate of Royal Dutch Shell, plc ("Shell") in exchange for a portion of Ultra's Marcellus Shale properties and cash consideration of $925.0 million.

On October 25, 2014, members and supporters of the Hudson Valley Oil & Energy Council (HVOEC) will once again join together for the organization's Annual Person of the Year Dinner Dance. Historically, the Dinner Dance has been the HVOEC's biggest fundraising event, and this year is expected to be bigger than ever thanks to their unique selection of honorees. In celebration of the Annual Dinner Dance's 25th anniversary, instead of choosing one 'Person of the Year," the HVOEC will honor the work of six local charities ' one for each county the association represents ' and present each one with a donation of $2,000.00.
