Crestwood Expands Two Terminals, Upgrades One
Expansions at two of its propane rail terminals are complete, and upgrades are underway at a third, Crestwood Midstream’s Marketing Supply and Logistics (MSL) Group announced.
Expansions of Crestwood’s rail terminals in Montgomery, N.Y., and Rose Hill, N.C., were undertaken to enhance winter capacity and to accelerate upload times, the Crestwood unit, based in Kansas City, Mo., said in a statement. The location undergoing upgrades is in Davisville, R.I.
Crestwood’s Montgomery terminal opened in the summer of 2017 to serve marketers across the Northeast. The 20-acre facility – which is served by the Middletown and New Jersey railroads – can store more than 280,000 gallons of propane and has a 16-spot rail rack and a four-spot truck rack that can load four trucks in 17 minutes. Crestwood announces the implementation of a new automated 24/7 loading system to eliminate long wait times during peak winter months.
The Rose Hill terminal, which opened in early 2015, provides propane marketers across North Carolina with much-needed reliability. Crestwood has completed an expansion at Rose Hill and will soon offer 24/7 load times to optimize daily transportation.
The Davisville terminal—strategically located adjacent to the high-demand vacation communities of Cape Cod and Nantucket—has been serving propane marketers across New England since 2014. Crestwood is in the process of adding a sixth rail tower and additional storage to ensure plenty of winter capacity, the company said on July 17.
