ATA Backs Trump’s Call to Restore Infrastructure
President Trump called for a national, bipartisan effort to restore declining infrastructure during his State of the Union address. American Trucking Associations’ President and CEO Chris Spears applauded the President’s proactive call to address aging infrastructure and modernizing trade relationships with Mexico and Canada.
“Restoring our national infrastructure to greatness will further ignite our economy, make us more competitive abroad, and give Americans more time to spend with family and less time stuck in traffic,” Spears said.
Spear also urged Congress to move quickly on the new United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, another of the priorities that the president cited in his Feb. 5 address.
American Trucking Associations, based in Arlington, Va., is a national trade association for the trucking industry.
