Women in Energy and the National Oilheat Research Alliance will hold a special event at the NORA Liquid Fuels Research Center in Plainview, N.Y. on April 2 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Since 2001, NORA has been the leading voice for the oil-heating industry and its consumers. Two of NORA’s most impactful industry initiatives are:

  • The industry transition from a fossil-fuel-based product with sulfur levels of 2,000 ppm to a product with essentially no sulfur (less than 15 ppm) blended with biodiesel. This has led to a very clean, partially renewable fuel with a reduced carbon footprint while lowering greenhouse gases, and reducing the service demands of the heating equipment.
  • The ongoing elevation of industry technical education that includes an online “learning” website that allows and encourages technicians to continuously upgrade their level of expertise to provide consumers with efficient, reliable, clean and safe heating available.

The event program will include a discussion of current research into biofuel blends as one of the elements of the new “Green Agenda.” Attendees will have an opportunity to tour the 3,500-square-foot NORA Liquid Fuels Research Center, followed by food, beverages, and networking.

Thanks to the sponsorship of the New York Oil Heating Association and the Oil Heat Institute of Long Island, all proceeds from this event will benefit Women in Energy’s Mentorship Program.

Registration is $59.00 per person. Visit www.wewomeninenergy.com to reserve your spot today.
