Total Amyris BioSolutions Established Produce and Commercialize Renewable Fuels from Amyris’s Technology Platform

Amyris, Inc. (Emeryville, Calif.) and Total (Paris) announced the formation of Total Amyris BioSolutions B.V., a 50-50 joint venture that now holds exclusive rights and a license under Amyris's intellectual property to produce and market renewable diesel and jet fuel from Amyris's renewable farnesene. TOTAL is Amyris's largest investor, holding approximately 18% of its outstanding common stock, and is deeply committed to the development of next-generation renewable fuels from biomass.

API Welcomes Federal Report Showing U.S. Energy Revolution Driving Exports

API welcomed a report ( http://www.bea.gov/newsreleases/international/trade/tradnewsrelease.htm ) from the U.S. Department of Commerce revealing that growth in the U.S. oil and natural gas industry contributed to record exports in October. The U.S. trade deficit shrank to $40.6 billion, a drop of about 5.6 percent, driven by low energy imports and increased exports of industrial supplies and materials, including petroleum products, according to the report. The Energy Information Administration also noted that U.S. exports of distillate fuel are up 30 percent from last year.
