New Presenters at OESP’s 60th Anniversary

March 4, 2013 ‘ The National Association of Oil and Energy Service Professionals (OESP) is celebrating its 60th Anniversary at its Annual Convention and Trade Show at the HERSHEY® Lodge in Hershey, PA from May 19-23, 2013. They will mark this occasion with an exciting education schedule featuring new topics and presenters.

Ray Wohlfarth is a new presenter this year’s OESP Convention and was recommended by Dan Holohan. ‘I’ve known Ray for more than 20 years and when it comes to commercial boiler systems, and explaining them in plain English, he’s the best I’ve ever seen,” says Dan.  ‘He weaves real-world stories into his tech talks that keep his audiences on the edge of their seats. Ray makes learning fun!”

Ray will present a class called ‘Boiler Room Safety.” He is the author of Lessons Learned in a Boiler Room: A Common-Sense Approach to Servicing and Installing Commercial Boilers. Ray is also President of Fire & Ice in Pittsburgh, PA and writes a monthly newsletter on commercial boilers.

Ray’s class is application-based and attendees will learn important answers to questions like: What is the leading cause of boiler failures? How many accidents occur per year? Which boiler type is more dangerous? Are water heaters dangerous? What are some relief valve dos and don’ts? What do you do with a sooted boiler? Should you use Teflon Tape? How long does it take to get a third-degree burn from steam or hot water? What are the visual signs of a problem boiler?

Attendees can earn NORA and NATE CEU’s at this class and at all other technical classes during the Convention. This is just one example of the variety of classes that will be offered. One low cost permits attendees to take advantage of all of the sessions from Monday through Wednesday afternoon.

Registration for OESP’s Annual Convention and Trade Show will open in late January and the HERSHEY® Lodge is now accepting reservations. Visit www.thinkoesp.org to get all of the details, as well as a complete listing of educational opportunities.
