OESP Names 2020 Manufacturer of the Year
Oil & Energy Service Professionals, a national association with over 20 local chapters, named Field Controls, Kinston, N.C., its 2020 Manufacturer of the Year.
George Perrelli, owner of F. Perrelli & Sons Fuel, East Haven, Connecticut, and chairman of the OESP Selection Committee, presented Field Controls with the award. Rick Glownia, sales representative for Field Controls, accepted the award on behalf of the manufacturer.
Field Controls develops and manufactures products that are designed to control, move, or improve the quality of air. The company’s customers are original equipment manufacturers of oil and gas heating appliances and over 6,000 wholesale distributors throughout the U.S. who supply HVAC contractors that specify Field Controls products for their customers—residential and commercial building owners.
Perrelli noted Field Controls’ almost 100 years in the industry, its commitment to service, its product innovation, and commitment to training. As a founding member of OESP, Field Controls has been a leading contributor to technical education for OESP members. And, with the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus, Field Controls stepped up its commitment to online training with focus on air treatment solutions.
The company says that in its solutions-based training, Tim Begoske, Midwest regional sales manager for Field Controls, “takes a deep dive into the science of air treatment and its practical application in residences and businesses.”
The award citation recognized product and customer support provided by Ed Reynolds, vice president of sales and marketing, and Rick Desmairais and Jamie Desmairais of JAD Associates, manufacturers’ representatives based in Dracut, Massachusetts.
“I credit our people.” says Patrick Holleran, president of Field Controls. “This award is especially gratifying because of the current pandemic situation confronting our industry. My team determined early on we needed to pivot to virtual training and continue providing the service, knowledge and product support that Field Controls is known for.”
Holleran adds, “The push for decarbonization has decreased demand for our traditional products, but we have pivoted into air treatment and ventilation. In so doing, we continue to support our customers as they also pivot toward these alternative revenue streams.”
As part of a commitment to advancing OESP as well as the industry, Field Controls created a series of webinars on subjects including: Understanding and Sizing Residential Ventilation; PURE Air – Understanding UVGI Technology; EvenAir – Whole House Comfort Control; and Fresh Air Ventilation.
