Tom Peters of Empire State Petroleum Association has reported the passing of Don Isburgh.  Isburgh was the president of Amsterdam Oil Heat Corporation in Amsterdam, N.Y., and was always proud of the fact that he was the fourth generation in the fuel business. He was very active in the industry and served as president of the Oil Heat Institute of Eastern New York, of which he was a founding member and original incorporator. He was also a trustee of the Insurance Trust Fund of the Empire State Petroleum Association.

General Filters, Inc. has announced the promotion of Tony Burks to vice president of sales and customer service, effective immediately. Burks joined General Filters, Inc. (novi, Mich.) in September 2012, following a five-year term in sales management at GE and two years managing product development and marketing at Latham Corporation.  Since joining the company, Burks has been a key member of General Filters' Strategic Planning Group, designing and executing sales campaigns and assisting the efforts of national sales representative agencies.

Fifty-four members of Congress representing 24 states called on the Obama Administration Wednesday to boost its proposal for biodiesel production under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) next year.
